This season membership is a one off payments of £130, or £ 5 a game. Last season we had the lowest number of players who we’re members in the whole club. So we let the side down. This season I don’t want this too happen again. So I would prefer that most players who are looking to play most weeks become members, if due too work commitments are less likely to play that often then become just a member of the club and pay the £5 when your able to play a game. I will be getting some membership application forms and will be handing them out.

Yes we are starting pre season in June, last season we didn’t and we didn’t play very well at all. So this season we won’t make the same mistakes, plus all the other teams will be starting then. This will allow us to start the season as we mean to play it, FITTER, STRONGER and QUICKER than we’ve ever been. This means we need people to some training on there own time, not just on a Wednesday night.

Last season we could use the excuses of losing some players , not having a coach, and others as to why we weren’t making the impact we should. This season we WILL be prepared. So there will be NO excuses.

Lets make sure we have 20 plus players down training, and lets give 100% in training. No prating about.

Next season there will be a perminate vice captain and a pack leader. As well as Marcus as coach. And yes you’ve got me as captain again.

Hope to see you all on June 4th, if not before.

We’ve decided that on the 19Th of July we’re going to help Scott and Oz celebrate their 21st birthday. So Isle of Wight here we come ( so dust off your passports ) It’ll be an early meet, with a full day of visits to a few of the watering holes the island has to offer. Tour rules and such like will follow shortly. Can you let me know if your attending as i might and see if i can organise breakfast with a pint.

So no play offs, just a straightforward league this year. Easily our least organised year which has seen quite a transition in the A xv. Lots of new guys coming along, lots of old gits hiding away! New coach Marcus will be looking to get the set up much tighter for next season with better preparation pre season. Keep an eye out on here for details of the BBQ and touch rugby meet up and summer training arrangements.

Hampshire RFU have confirmed there are to be no play offs this year. They are updating the final table and will post soon.

Saturday will be the last game of the season. Mike will be in touch shorlty to let you know the arrangements for summer training

We will be arranging a BBQ and touch rugby on southsea common in a few weeks. Friends and family welcome etc.

Thanks to all all who trained and played this year, look forward to next year!

Ok i’ve been nagged to report the good win against winchester last weekend! I was so knackered that my memory is a bit patchy but heres my best effort.

Horrible conditions on dingle dell at home. We started off strongly, getting good ball out to the backs and were rewarded with some excellent tries including a couple from from Dickie Duke playing his first game with us. Berger saved the day filling the vacant srcum half position and did a stirling job. Stole lots of ball and generally made a right nusance of himself.

Winchester got their act together much more in the second half and we had to defend against 40 minutes of intense pick and drives and mauls from their forwards. When we did trun ball over we just kicked it aimlessly back at them to attack us all over again!

Bruce Neil was tireless in defence in only his second game with us. Will and Jaco got round the park well (until Jaco got a little twisted ankle and then proceeded to scream in the highest pitch voice i have ever heard…very funny!) But credit goes to jack and tank who battled against a big pack in the scrums and were all over the pitch in defence. Spud got a typical spud style wrap up to tunr the ball over on the very last move a metre or so out to win the game. Well done everyone!

We need to get a W over andover to stand any chance of creeping into the top 4 for the playoffs.

See you all at training

Once again the lads pulled it out of the bag, Winchester  came to Hooks lane determined not to be beaten by us again. Unfortunately they met a determined Havant AXV who we’re never going to let them win. This game wasn’t the free flowing rugby we all like to try and play, mainly due to the playing conditions, and partly due to the season we’ve been having. I think we won because like against Totts we wanted it more than them.

This season can be put down to a transitional season with us losing so many players over last summer, and recruiting some players as well, not having a coaching figure to run our training sessions, and the worst luck with injuries, injuries which couldn’t be played on, but injuries that required several weeks, months out. Even last week a player had a bad injury which will keep him out for the rest of the season.

It seems early to be talking about next season but i think everything we do from now on and over the summer will help us have a better season, like we did last season when we we’re in the top half of the table, won our play off, only for the play off to be cancelled.

We will be judged on how good or bad we are as a team and individuals on next season. S o its down to the players and the coaching staff to pull our fingers out and making sure we’re ready for next season.

Been a rubbish updating,

lost to gosport anf fareham - 10- 15 ish i think
won against Tottonians 28-26
lost to Chichester 12-25ish…someone remind me!

not great really…simptomatic of the year as a whole. not enough continuity in the team so we just play as we see rather than as we practice..hopefully can sort it out at some point!

After them winning the 1st league encounter at there place, then us winning a friendly at there place the game no doubt will be close. So we will have to pull our fingers out and produce a performance.

Its a 1 o clock meet, out on the pitch for 1:30pm, kick off 2:30. DON’T BE LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Team : Tank, Scott, Jason, Rich, Hooly, Jaco, Dave, Mike, Jon, Tommy, Tony, Ali, Pete, James, Tom

Subs: Vin, Brian, Mikey, Bruce & Darren

Not the best game, we lost due to lack of training together as a team. Hoping to put this right starting  this week, but we’ll see how many we get too training.
