It was proposed by a member that the inside the club premises become a complete No-Smoking zone.

After much debate, the proposal/motion went to a vote, 12 for, 11 against 7 abstained.

So effective immediately, the inside of the club house is now No Smoking!!!!! you have been warned!!!

I am pleased to announce that at the AGM (held at the club Thursday 29th June) Mike Issitt was proposed, seconded and therefore accepted, to become the new Captain for the Axv.

Congratulations Mike’s on the appointment to the role – no doubt there will be a post from Mike appearing on this site in the very near future.

I would like to thank James Hewett the captain for the last 3 seasons for all his time and effort he has put into the team. James is still going to play an active part in the team and will providing support to Mike in the coming seasons.

Well, this years 2nd annual Havant summer holiday had a bit of a strange twist to it. We bumped into a bunch of lads holding a rugby ball, who it turned out were going to enter the ryde beach 7's rugby tournament. Having already consumed a couple of beers we foolishly thought this was a great idea. So we entered. Great day and we ended up winning the tournament….

….Well, that would have been a good end to the story. Sadly, we lost all of our group stages and had to watch the final between ryde rfc and Sandown and shanklin rfc.

5 hours of full on contact rugby with a bunch of army and 1st team players with sand down our throats may not sound like great fun but it was a great day and well worth entering next year. It’s no limit rolling subs which believe me we need lots of!!

I understand there is another beach 7's tournament in Bournemouth in 2 weeks, if anyone is interested?

Senior club AGM is on Thursday 29th June, starting around 7:30pm.

All players are welcome, however only members will be able to vote on any points raised.

It has been brought to the attention of the GateKeeper that numbers for training have dropped recently.

Can I bring it to your attention that you all wanted to carry-on training throughout the close season. The coach will be making me aware of persistant offenders!!!
