  • Warm up will start at 6:50
  • Training will start at 7pm

As usual any sensible questions about this please let me know.

Havant RFC

The Axv entertained Winchester 2’s at the lane in a top of the table clash. Having only beating Winchester 22:23 at their place back in September, the team were expecting and looking forward to a hard fought game.

Preperations were not ideal, having lost Rich Pineo due to a broken thumb sustained on Wednesdays training session, the Axv suffered a big blow when their scrum half Chris O’Hagan pulled/tore his hamstring in the prematch warm up Read the rest of this entry »

All, I recieved this mail on Friday 26th Jan:

……………………………………………….

Dear Gatekeeper.

It has come to my attention that the player former known as “Big Rich” aka Rosie is developing a tendancy for wearing the colour pink, this began with a lovely scarf that matched his young fresh faced cheeks.

On Wednesday night when he took his shoes off he was witnessed to be wearing PINK SOCKS.
Not only where these socks pink, but they had some Christmas type malarky going on and I clearly saw the words SANTA BABY or it may have been SANTA’s BABE (The words aren’t important).

Is there a case here for excessive use of the colour pink?
????
(name withheld to protect informants identity)

……………………………………………….

Well, I see this an open and shut case, however I must use the normal rules for such as case.

Rich Neil  (aka Rosie or Big Rich), you have been cited for the henous crime of ‘excessive use of pink’, this is one of the most terrible crimes that a player can commit either on or off the pitch.

You have 24hrs to enter a plea. Failure to enter a plea will be classed as a contempt of court.

The Gate Keeper

First of all I would like to say thank you to the players who committed to playing for the Barracudas this weekend, however unfortunately we have been unable to secure a fixture  for the Barracuda’s.

The Axv still have their fixture against Winchester, so can I ask for the you all to come along and support.

Words defeat me, I can only appologise to the players which I have chased to make themselves available.

3th February – Alton RFC Beer Festival. hhhmm…..beer

We are playing Alton 2’s, at their place in a merit table fixture on this date!!

Venue: Alton RFC

Contact: Jason Baldock

Dress code: Club polo’s

Axv

Second league game in succession we play another ‘top’ team in the league. This weeked see’s the Axv hosting Winchester 2’s (currently lying in the top position) for a Senior Merit table game. Back on the 30th Sept the Axv came out on top to beat Winchester 23:22, and are expecting a strong side to visit Hooks lane for the return leg.

That was then, this is now, this Saturday we are going to have to be on top form and put in a very good performance, this will be the only way to ensure that we deserve to be in the top 2 of this league.

Timings: Meet at the club 12.45pm, out on pitch 1.15pm, Kick-off 2.15pm
Referee: Peter Westley

Barracudas

As previously stated we are looking to get a game for the rest of the players this weekend. So keep referring back for updates on the fixture.

The club are very keen to get this up and running, so this date has been chosen as the Axv have a league fixture, so can only field 18 players. The rest are going to be put forward to Steve Lawrence, and assumed as available to play, with back fill coming throughout from the Dolphin’s, Mariners and possibly academy.

Please note I have not been advised of anyone not being available for the 27th Jan, everyone is assumed as available for both the Axv and the Barracuda’s next weekend**.

All, After another cancelled match (due to the weather), we will have to put all our efforts and focus on training this Wednesday evening. Even after the excellent performance against Andover two Saturdays we cannot sit back, we have so much to work on.  Please can you ensure that you try to attend training, and ready to be out on the pitch ready by 6.45pm

- Warm up will start at 6:50- Training will start at 7pm.  Any sensible questions about this please let me know.

After several weeks waiting to for the league table to be updated, we are still second on ‘ratio’. Winchester have snuck up on the outside and with a couple of ‘games awarded’ – one of those being when Andover beat them 16:12, Andover mentioned this the other Saturday and were going to dispute with Hampshire RFU.

Anyway, we are 2nd as it stands.

Unfortunatley due to the weather the game was called off at 11:15am this morning. #

After several frantic phone calls, trying to swap the fixture to Nomads ground, we found out that their pitches were off as well. So no pitch , no game…………………sorry we did try!

**************************

As those who were at training know Southampton called off on Tuesday.

But thanks to our fixture secretary, we have managed to get a game at home against Nomads. Thank you to Nomads for accepting the fixture.

With the players which are available we will be looking to have rolling sub’s, I know that Nomads are looking to do the same and ensure game time for players who don’t get a chance during league fixture.

But after the intensity of last Saturdays game against Andover, we are looking to maintian the level of focus, but not compromise our normal position on friendlies, as many players to be available and all to get constructive game time. This weekend is very key as we are putting two teams out next weekend.

Players to make their availability known to Mike Issitt.

Timings: Meet at the club 12.45pm, out on pitch 1.15pm, Kick-off 2.15pm
Referee: Gary Griffin

Afterwards there is a run ashore to Albert Road for Keon’s leaving drink, click here for details

**Please note I have not been advised of anyone not being available for the 27th Jan, everyone is assumed as available for both the Axv and the Barracuda’s next weekend**.
