Training starts on the 6th June at 7pm.

As many as possible down, and it’s the time of year to try and recruit returning players, and ask those who’ve not played for a while if at all if they fancy a run out.

The first few weeks will be getting back into the habit of turning up on Wednesdays. Touch, Tag and some basic core skills will be the order of the day, all leading up to a concerted effort for official preseason training to start on Wednesday 4th July when it will be all in to get ready for the first game in Aug/Sept.

Don’t forget to bring, trainers, boots, plenty of water, normal rugby kit

On a grim, wet Bank holiday Sunday, Havant RFC had a great time, unfortunately still could only mange 2nd place again behind Churchers college.

The team also raised £710, that will go towards Naomi House Hospice

MEN,

I’ve once again found myself organising a team on behalf of the rugby club to enter in this years Dragon Boat Festival next Sunday, 27th May. We’ve entered a competitive team into this event for the past two years.

It’s a great day that basically involves eating drinking and some paddling. Having finished a close second two years ago I am looking to go one better.

This year I’ve spent most of my time organising a barbeque for the day and consequently I’m a couple of paddlers short of a full elite squad so if anyone is interested in helping out please let me know asap.

The event is organised by the Portsmouth and Southsea Rotary Club and raises money for the Daisy Wessex Cancer Appeal and local hospices. Everyone that takes part must raise some money for charity, or donate something themselves
For more information about the event see http://portsmouthrotary.org.uk/Dragonboat.html

Thanks,

James
PS Those with recently dislocated or broken limbs are excused
